Layout Ideas
Website layout have you confused?
Ok you have your idea. You have your business plan. You know you need a website to make sure that your business is successful. But what should it look like? Where should you start. Should it have one or four columns? Should it have a header/footer information, drop down or slide menus? Do you need a orange, green or florecent brown website? These are all questions that we run across all the time. One of the best ways to jump into the internet pool is to have a diving board to jump from. The diving board in this case is a sample (whether it be a template or exisitng website) layout and color idea to jump from.
Therefore we encourage checking out a website like Monster Templates and browse through their template ideas to gain a better understanding of what you can do with a website. (The answer to that question is pretty much anything!) Another great book that I have found is The Web Designer's Idea Book: The Ultimate Guide To Themes, Trends & Styles In Website Design by Patrick Mcneil. It's a great resource and allows you to see, in categories, all the different websites that have been created and creativity that you are allowed to have with a website. You don't need to have the menu on the left (although it's encouraged base don studies done with how we read webpages), or your content stuck in little boxes! Take a glance around and see what others are doing and then take that step with rbdesignit to make sure your website is one that sticks out and gets noticed.
